The Role
Apply skills and dexterity in the assembly of components into finished devices, in keeping with regulatory and company standards and processes.
Reporting Lines
Reports directly to the Head of Operations or designate.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Use tools and equipment to complete assembly of medical devices precisely and in a timely fashion following work order instructions and drawings.
- Use chemicals to manufacture solutions for processing of complete medical device assembly.
- Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets and written or verbal assembly instructions.
- Self-assessment of work, including visual inspection under magnification; escalate issues to supervisor for assessment and correction.
- Ensure that high quality standards are maintained, follow work procedures and specifications and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice.
- Perform incoming inspection on medical device components against specified requirements.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions as required.
- Perform functional inspections of prototype devices in accordance with guidance of supervisor or engineer.
- Support the maintenance of the production environment in a clean and organized condition, per supervisor instructions.
- Responsible for completing routine cleaning of the production environment.
- Complete packaging and shipment of assembled product to the sterilizer.
- Maintain quality records of incoming inspection, device manufacture, shipment and returns.
- Occasionally assist with testing efforts to support the broader development process (e.g. preparing test samples, recording data, maintaining test fixtures, cleaning 3d printed parts) as required.

Education and Experience
- Educated to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent.
- Excellent manual dexterity skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Previous experience working with medical devices in a clean room environment preferred
- Good communication skills. Able to read, comprehend and speak English including technical terminology, in particular safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, specifications, instructions, short correspondence, company policies and memos.
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions.
- Willingness to be flexible, team oriented and open minded to new processes or changes in direction.
- Flexibility to work overtime to ensure smooth and continuous manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to complete, retain, and incorporate training in the performance of new and advanced work procedures.
