CroíValve is a dynamic venture backed medical device start up developing a groundbreaking device to treat a debilitating disease by repairing a valve in the heart without the need for open heart surgery. The Company is fast moving with a clear vision for the future. It has a team of 30 people across Ireland and US.

 

The Financial Accountant will support the CEO and CFO and will partner with the business on all financial matters. They will be responsible for financial planning, provision of financial information to enable strategic decision-making including preparing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning. They will lead all compliance related activities around accounting, audit and tax reporting obligations and internal controls. The Financial Accountant will support the CFO in financing and investment transactions to capitalise the business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

  • Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets.

  • Analyse the financial data across the company, understanding the cost drivers and work with Departments Managers on decision support and present key findings to the CFO.

  • Ensure financial transactions recorded and reconciled in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

  • Support the annual audit process and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

  • Assist with tax preparation and compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations.

  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports as necessary.

  • Collaborate with the CFO to improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices to maintain strong internal controls.

  • Manage the external payroll provider's activities,

  • Support the administration of grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and conditions.

 

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field required.

  • Qualified CIMA, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent with 2+ years PQE Industry experience.

  • Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of IFRS and all relevant accounting regulations.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel

  • Demonstrates good people skills to work effectively with others to achieve company goals.

  • Effective verbal and written technical communication skills.

  • At ease in start-up environment and effectiveness to deliver in low-structured environments
